Splash lines up young designers for Tribeca’s InfoBox

Urban Splash will announce the shortlisted architects competing to design the InfoBox marketing building for its Tribeca development in Liverpool next week.

The shortlist will be revealed on Wednesday evening, 4 June, at the launch of an exhibition featuring the finalists' designs at the Novas Contemporary Urban Centre on Greenland Street. The event follows a three-month competition open to final year architecture students and architects less than 35 years old. More than 100 young designers entered the contest to design a landmark structure on Great George Street. The competition was run with the Architects' Journal.

Tribeca will comprise 700 new homes and 80,000 sq ft of commercial space as well as a hotel, creche and public and private gardens.

Meanwhile, Splash has secured planning permission for the first phase of Tutti Frutti, its self-build scheme at New Islington, Manchester's Millennium Community.

The first phase comprises six homes which have been designed by the owners and their individual teams of architects, each of whom were chosen following a design competition held last year.
