SpaMedica takes 10,000 sq ft in Sale
No1 Dovecote has a new tenant, with the independent eye hospital signing a 10-year lease for the ground floor of the building.
SpaMedica will offer patients ophthalmology care, including cataract surgery, from its new 9,800 sq ft location off Old Hall Road in Sale. It takes over the space from small business utility service provider Verastar, which has reduced its footprint in the building from its entirety to just its open floors.
“We were thrilled to open our brand-new eye hospital in Sale, which will help to reduce waiting times for NHS cataract surgery and YAG laser capsulotomy in the region,” said SpaMedica head of property Emma Shaw.
The group signed its lease for No1 Dovecote asset manager Corum Butler, which acquired the property in 2019 for £13.8m. Cushman & Wakefield acted for Corum Butler on the deal. SpaMedica was unrepresented, but still worked with Cushman & Wakefield closely on the deal.
Shaw said: “It was a pleasure to work with Cushman & Wakefield to identify a suitable location for the hospital, and Dovecote House is ideally situated for local residents, with all of the facilities we’ll need to deliver excellent care and fantastic outcomes for our patients.”
Harry Skinner, an associate at Cushman & Wakefield, said he was pleased with the deal, praising the building’s characteristics.
“The building is extremely well-located, with the popular suburb of Sale town centre within walking distance, and excellent public transport links to Manchester city centre and Greater Manchester districts and boroughs,” he said.
