South Liverpool Homes recruits One Manchester COO

Anna Bishop will join the housing association as chief executive in November. In the meantime, Ian Cresswell will continue as interim chief executive.

Bishop has more than 25 years of experience in housing and is currently the chief operating officer at One Manchester. Prior to joining One Manchester, she worked at The Riverside Group and housing association Pine Court.

“I’m really excited and proud to be taking up the role of South Liverpool Homes’ chief executive,” Bishop said.

“Reducing inequalities in communities is something that’s very important to me and I’m looking forward to working with customers, colleagues and board to ensure we continue to deliver on this in light of the economic and environmental challenges we are facing,” she continued.

“South Liverpool Homes has a clear vision for their future aspirations and I’m honoured to be part of this so that we can ensure great homes and services for the Speke and Garston community for years to come.”

Regarding Bishop’s hire, South Liverpool Homes board chair David Jepson said: “We are really excited to welcome Anna to the SLH team. Having lived in Liverpool for over 30 years, she has a deep understanding of our communities and the challenges that our customers, and the housing sector, are facing.

“She joins us at an exciting time following the launch of our 2022-2027 corporate plan, and we are confident that Anna’s breadth of experience and passion for the communities we serve will go a long way to help us deliver our vision of great homes, strong communities and bright futures for our customers.”

South Liverpool began its hunt for a new chief executive when former chief executive Julie Fadden left the post last summer after nearly 17 years with the association. Cresswell, who had been the group’s executive director of innovation and technology, took on the interim chief executive role shortly thereafter.

South Liverpool Homes owns and manages around 3,850 homes in South Liverpool. Most of its properties are in Speke and Garston.
