Somerford Green wins approval

Acting for Ainscough Strategic Land, How Planning has won outline consent from Cheshire East Council for Somerford Green, a major mixed-use site in Congleton.

The 59.4-acre site, north of the Radnor Park Trading Estate and east of Back Lane, will contain 275 houses for sale at full market prices and 312,890 sq ft of commercial space, including 12,500 sq ft of leisure.

Around two-thirds of the predominantly rural site will be built on in a scheme described by How as a “natural and direct urban extension” to the north of Congleton.

The design team includes Broadway Malyan as architect, Aeon Archeology, BWB, Croft Transport Solutions and Tyler Grange as environmental consultant.
