Sigma hires from Salford City Council

Sigma Capital has recruited Hayley Fielden, regeneration group leader at Salford City Council, to the newly-created post of regional director.

With a background in town planning, Fielden has been with Salford City Council for over 12 years, with time spent in the council’s spatial planning team before moving on to further senior posts in planning and regeneration.

She has worked collaboratively with Salford City Council’s external development partners on the delivery of numerous large-scale property and infrastructure schemes in the Greengate, New Bailey and Chapel Street areas of the city.

Fielden joins Sigma in October and will be based at their Manchester office. She will be working alongside Sigma chief operating officer Graeme Hogg with a remit for strategic planning and delivery of a large pipeline of sites in the North West.

She said: “Sigma have a fantastic reputation and as the architect of the stock market listed PRS REIT, they have a unique platform for the delivery of much needed new family homes.

“With the National Planning Policy Framework now giving the important Build to Rent sector recognition for the first time, I am looking forward to assisting Sigma, their funders and house building partners in achieving their delivery target of 20,000 new professionally-managed family homes in the next five years.

“Sigma are investing in creating and sustaining long term communities, focusing on the delivery of new neighbourhoods in areas of housing need. This really appeals to me.”
