Shortlist announced for North West Regional Construction Awards

Winners will be unveiled at a celebration on 6 July at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.

The North West Regional Construction Awards has published its shortlist for it is 17th ceremony, which honours construction excellence in the area. Winners will have their names put forward for consideration or the National Constructing Excellence Awards, which will be held in London in November.

Constructing Excellence in the North West; University of Salford’s School of Science, Engineering, and Environment; and the Centre for Construction Innovation work together with live events agency Clear to put on the awards.

Head judge Peter McDermott, who is also a professor at the University of Salford, described why honouring construction excellence is so important.

“25 years ago the then-Deputy Prime Minister challenged the industry to ‘rethink construction’,” McDermott recalled. “The movement that followed has continued to challenge.

“Respect for people, innovation, and collaborative working, were the original watchwords – with the drive for what we might now call better social value outcomes – and better environmental and economic outcomes,” he continued.

“The Construction Awards continue to give recognition of the positive impact the construction sector contributes to communities across the UK.  We offer congratulations to all of those short-listed in the North West and wish you the very best of luck!”

Place North West is one of the sponsors for NWRCA. Other sponsors include Tilbury Douglas, Morgan Sindall, Relentless, Hays Recruitment, Pagabo, Procure Partnerships, North West Construction Hub, John Southworth, and Weightmans. A&B Engineering is the headline sponsor.
