Sedrow Fire Engineering launches in Stockport
Henry Wilkinson and Steven Ellis are behind the new consultancy, which will advise on fire safety design and regulatory compliance as the built environment grapples with the new regulations brought forth by the Building Safety Act.
“We founded Sedrow Fire Engineering to respond to a clear need in the market,” said Wilkinson. “Not only is the construction industry busy, but new regulations and processes, in particular with regard to Higher Risk Buildings, are creating difficulties for developers and investors.”
He continued: “We’ve found that many clients are frustrated with the long delays for fire engineering advice and our goal is to offer the responsiveness and care that clients deserve.”
Between them, Wilkinson and Ellis have more than 20 years of experience working in the built environment. Both worked previously at Jensen Hughes, where Wilkinson was a senior director and Ellis was an associate. Wilkinson has also worked at Jeremy Gardner Associates.
Throughout their career, the two have worked on high-profile projects in the North, including MEPC’s Wellington Place in Leeds, Harcourt Developments’ Tobacco Warehouse in Liverpool, and the Manchester Corn Exchange.
While based in Stockport currently, Wilkinson and Ellis have ambitions to expand and set up shop in Manchester city centre.
“Our goal in the next five years is to establish Sedrow Fire Engineering as a trusted name in the UK construction industry, with a diverse client base and project portfolio,” Wilkinson told Place North West.
“We intend to grow, expanding our team and building strong client relationships, with the aim of becoming the go-to partner for developers, architects, building owners and contractors around the UK.”
