Seddon takes on Naylor & Walkden trio

The contractor has appointed three staff formerly of collapsed fit-out firm Naylor & Walkden which fell into administration in October, to its small works division.

Kelly Dew joined as business development manager, Gary Peacock as managing quantity surveyor, and David Tinsley is an estimator.

Recent completions for Bolton-headquartered Seddon included hotel extensions for Premier Inn hotels in Chester and Oldham, together worth £1.35m, and projects for Co-operative Food in Fleetwood, Doncaster and Leek.

Dew will work with Seddon’s ‎operations manager Mark Dawson to develop the small works division, including its fit-out offerings, mechanical and electrical services, painting and decorating and specialist services to external clients.

Dawson said: “The past year has seen us grow strongly as we focus on developing a blended portfolio of framework contracts across the company, and as a result each of the divisions have seen substantial growth, not least of all those in Seddon’s specialist services.”

There are now 16 people employed in the division.
