DeTrafford’s 230-home Phoenix Works revealed

The Manchester-based developer has lodged plans to build an apartment scheme known as Osborne Yard, on Oldham Road north of the city centre. 

Manchester’s grade two-listed Kendal Milne building on Deansgate, home to House of Fraser, is to be redeveloped into offices with some retail retained on the ground floor, under proposals from its South African owner.

The design firm has been appointed as the lead architect for a major redevelopment of the North Manchester General Hospital, being led by the local NHS trust and its delivery partners including Bruntwood.

The office is not dead but developers and investors must put their hands in their pockets to cleverly cater to changes in occupier demand and bring people back to the city centre, according to panellists at a Place North West event. 

North Manchester General Hospital is applying for consent to build a temporary office to house staff, to facilitate a wider redevelopment of the hospital’s estate.

A refurbishment of the grade two-listed hotel building, including the modernisation of its 312 bedrooms, will complete by the end of this month, according to operator Leonardo Royal Hotels.

The 10- to 19-storey student accommodation block close to Manchester Piccadilly train station is to be reclad in anticipation of ever-evolving demands on cladding, changing its appearance from brown to blue. 

Manchester City Council said it will ask the public for feedback on three potential designs for the regeneration of Piccadilly Gardens by the end of the year.
