Government asked to back Cumbrian coastal rail upgrade

An early-stage business case has been submitted to the Department for Transport to provide £9m for improvements on Cumbria’s coastal railway line, which will help to support major projects in the region including Nugen’s Moorside nuclear plant.

Cheshire East and Stockport extend transport consultation

Stockport and Cheshire East residents will have until 16 July to give feedback on SEMMMS, the South East Manchester Multi-Modal Strategy, with options on the table including a tram-train network to connect Stockport with Hazel Grove, Didsbury, and Altrincham.

Stockport Interchange moves to consultation phase

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has signed-off plans from Stockport Council for a multi-million pound redevelopment of the town’s bus station, allowing the mixed-use project to go out to public consultation.

GMCA to sign off £14m for ring road upgrades

Greater Manchester Combined Authority is set to approve the release of Local Growth Deal funding to enable improvements at six junctions around Regent Road and Water Street, with a contract to be awarded in July.
