Takeuchi Mfg, a leading construction equipment supplier will open a 55,897 sq ft facility on Kingsway's Plot E. The unit will be completed by March.

The deal follows the recent exchange of contracts between Wilson Bowden and Oldham-based Vindon Scientific, which supplies environmental testing devices.

The company is taking 29,489 sq ft on Plot E.

Plot E is the first industrial plot to be developed at the park. The units to be occupied by Vindon and Takeuchi will sit alongside three more units of 1,828 sq m (19,679 sq ft), 3,188 sq m (34,307 sq ft) and 3,113 sq m (33,500 sq ft) which will be ready for occupation between March and June 2008 and are being built on a speculative basis.

Kingsway, a joint venture between the North West Development Agency and Wilson Bowden Developments in association with Rochdale Borough Council is one of the 25 major employment sites the NWDA has formally designated as strategically important to the region.

Kingsway covers 420 acres with 285 acres of net developable area. When completed it will provide 3m sq ft of industrial and distribution space, 295,900 sq ft of office space and 196,400 sq ft of retail and leisure space.

P3 Property Consultants and Jones Lang Lasalle are appointed agents on Kingsway. GVA Grimley acted for Takeuchi.
