Rula on track for September completion in Oldham

The logistics developer is close to finishing work on a 367,000 sq ft unit at Broadway Green in Chadderton.

Billed as a headquarters-style development, the facility includes 17,500 sq ft of office space and employee facilities.

The development, funded by Aver Properties, takes up the largest plot on the Broadway Green site.

Cllr Amanda Chadderton, leader of Oldham Council, said on visiting the site: “The new unit is very impressive – not only in terms of its size but also the quality design which is maximising natural light and achieving high standards of sustainability.

“We are delighted Rula Developments have made this significant investment in the borough and the Broadway Green scheme. We look forward to welcoming a new occupier to this fantastic development in the near future.”

Ben Ward, Rula managing director, added: “This is an exciting project for us, we are really pleased with the progress on site and look forward to handing the project over to our funding partner Aver Properties in the coming weeks.

“We understand there is strong demand in the unit from occupational tenants which underpins the strength of the location and quality of the build.”

Ward said that the building will achieve an EPC A rating and BREEAM Excellent status.

Close to both the M62 and M60 motorways and two miles from Oldham town centre, Broadway Green is being developed by a partnership comprising Oldham Council, Seddon and Grasscroft Property.

Aver, funder for the Rula scheme, is a joint venture btween Ergo Real Estate and NFU Mutual.

The site could offer more than 600,000 sq ft of employment space, along with up to 500 new homes. At Broadway Green’s gateway site, Aldi has this year been attempting to secure a consent for a foodstore.
