Rossendale UFC instructs consultant Nolan to sell club
Rossendale United Football Club has appointed independent property consultant Nolan Redshaw's Paul Nolan to market the UniBond League Division One North club.
Andrew Connolly, the owner of club, is looking for new investors to take the club to the next level. The sale will include the ground and its surrounding facilities, of which the stands and the social club have recently been refurbished. It is for sale as a going concern and the guide price was not disclosed.
Connolly has owned the football club, known as the 'Stags', for over a decade, but it has been run for the past two years by a group of volunteers, headed up by chairman and former player, Steve Hobson.
Connolly said: "I have put a lot of time and hard work into the club and, after careful consideration, I have now decided it is in the best interest, of both myself and RUFC, to put the club up for sale. I feel I have taken the club as far as I can and, now that it is clear of any debt, it will benefit from a fresh outlook.
"The club is in an excellent state and we have some great facilities, including one of the best playing surfaces in the league. I have instructed Valley lad and follower of the team, Paul Nolan, to market the club on my behalf."
Nolan Redshaw has previously advised Premier League clubs Manchester United FC and Burnley FC on professional and development issues over the last 18 months.
