Robertson adds operations director from Laing O’Rourke
In its third major hire from Laing O’Rourke in the last six months, Robertson has added Peter Grieve as its operations director for the North West, based out of its Haydock office.
Grieve joined Robertson last month, having spent the last 11 years at Laing O’Rourke, and worked on projects including the refurbishment of the Manchester Central Convention Centre.
His appointment follows two further hires from Laing O’Rourke since October last year. Beth Santangeli joined the company in December as business development manager, while regional director Dirk Pittaway, also a former deputy chief executive at Manchester Central, joined from Laing O’Rourke at the end of last year.
Pittaway said: “It is a real coup that we’ve been able to secure two highly impressive individuals to the business. Peter comes to Robertson North West with vast knowledge and a highly regarded reputation, especially across the region.
“I have no doubt that his appointment will drive us forward in 2018 and well beyond.”
“In her previous role, Beth was instrumental in different aspects of project delivery from bid, pre-construction and delivery. The appointments show the ambition of the business, as we continue to grow across the region.”
The group’s North West team relocated to offices in Haydock, Newton-le-Willows, last year.
Projects it has worked on across the region include the Bolton Central office development, next to the town’s bus interchange, and an operations and maintenance facility for Dong Energy.
It also replaced collapsed contractor Carillion to deliver Vision Tameside, a 75,000 sq ft advanced skills centre and a new home for Tameside Council’s public services.
