RMG appoints managing director

Justin Herbert has been promoted to the role at Residential Management Group, part of Places for People.

He succeeds founding director Hugh McGeever who is retiring after 20 years.

A period of transition has already taken place with McGeever supporting Herbert in his step before handing over the reins.

Herbert been with RMG in senior positions for the last 17 years mainly as operations director. Before this Stockport-based Herbert was customer services manager with Cooperative Financial Services.

Business in the North of England and Scotland has doubled during Herbert’s tenure according to RMG, and he has overseen improvements to client and customer service, including the implementation of a centralised customer service centre.

Herbert, said: “It’s a real privilege to be stepping into this role and leading RMG. I’m really grateful to Hugh for his many years of leadership and I’m looking forward to building on his great legacy.

“We now manage more than 144,000 homes with a sizeable pipeline of secured contracts across the UK and I look forward to growing our portfolio further.

“As well as managing many Places for People communities, we’re proud to work with most of the UK’s leading national and regional housebuilders, institutional landlords, and hundreds of resident-controlled management companies to ensure buildings and neighbourhoods are maintained to the standard people deserve.”

Hugh McGeever, former managing director of RMG, said: “The last 20 have been incredibly rewarding and I’d like to thank all of my colleagues for their hard work, dedication and passion.

“Their commitment and focus on supporting our fantastic clients and customers has made leading the company such a pleasure.

“I’m delighted personally that Justin has been appointed to the role, but it’s also great news for RMG and its customers.

“Justin has been a huge part of RMG’s growth and success throughout almost all of my 20 years here and he has a genuine passion for putting our clients and customers at the heart of what we do.”
