The digital insurance provider has opened an 11,000 sq ft office, twice the size of its previous space at The Royals.

Ripe said that its space can accommodate 150 staff members. The new base at One Stockport Exchange features 20 meeting rooms, enhanced collaboration spaces, upgraded tech, and rapid access to the railway station.

Sixteen Real Estate was instructed by Ripe. Director Scott Shufflebottom said: “It was a pleasure to represent Ripe Thinking and be involved in this key milestone for their business.

“Stockport Exchange provides a perfect working environment for the business to continue its fantastic growth journey and further expand its operations.”

The insurtech firm is a specialist insurance provider with more than 20 leisure, lifestyle and commercial products, covering “people’s passions” such as cyclists, sailors, sports coaches, and campervan enthusiasts. It serves more than 430,000 customers across the UK.

Founded in Manchester, Ripe said it has grown steadily over recent years expanding its product offering and strengthening its tech capabilities. Ripe has moved from The Royals on Altrincham Road, Sharston, close to the M56.

Chief executive Alan Thomas said: “Greater Manchester has always been central to our story. It’s where we were founded, where we’ve built our culture, and where we continue to find exceptional talent.

“Moving to Stockport Exchange is a natural next step for us. It gives us the space and infrastructure to scale our digital-first model, invest further in our technology, and create high-quality jobs in the region.

“At Ripe, we protect the hobbies, interests and passions that people really care about – whether that’s in their personal or professional lives. We’re excited to find a new home in Stockport which also has a rich cultural history in music and sport.”
