REGISTER | Bolton Regeneration Breakfast
The transformation of Bolton town centre is happening right now. Join the council, developers, and local stakeholders at this one-off event to learn how the future of the town is shaping up and how you can get involved.
Across Greater Manchester, towns are trying to reinvent themselves for a post-retail world. Doing so requires a proactive local authority with a clear vision, alongside a willing and collaborative private sector.
At this breakfast conference, delivered in collaboration with Bolton Council and Clear Futures, attendees will hear from the companies driving change in the town and gain a better understanding of the principles underpinning that transformation.
Partnerships between the public and private sector are vital for unlocking land and opportunities in towns like Bolton – this event will get under the skin of those partnerships and find out what makes a good one.
The event will run from 8am to 11:30am at The Wellsprings in Bolton on Tuesday 24 September. It will include a mix of networking, presentations and panel discussions. Breakfast is also included.
Tickets are free but you must register your interest to attend. You will be contacted by the Place North West events team to confirm if your registration is successful. Please note we can only accept two people per company.
Confirmed speakers
Jon Dyson is the director of place at Bolton Council – Dyson leads on Bolton Council’s regeneration programme, which includes various large-scale projects such as the redevelopment of Crompton Place Shopping Centre. He also plays a pivotal role in facilitating private sector investment and unlocking growth opportunities both in the town centre and wider borough.
Charlotte Cordingley is the chief executive of Clear Futures – Clear Futures facilitates long-term strategic partnerships between the public and private sector, aimed at improving the built environment. Having worked at both Wigan and Stockport councils previously, Cordingly knows exactly what local authorities need when it comes to delivering regeneration projects with private sector partners.
Phil Jones is project director at Placefirst – Placefirst’s 167-home Deansgate Gardens in the centre of Bolton is just one of the exciting projects coming forward in the town. Jones will provide insight on how that project came about, what it aims to achieve, and what it is like to work with Bolton Council.
A report on what was discussed at this meeting would be very interesting. I also think knowing what is going on and the plans being discussed will help to drive engagement and also help to hold those in power responsible when/if things don’t happen.
