Redsun completes at Wirral Business Park

Developer Redsun and contractor Portal have handed over a 100,000 sq ft industrial scheme, known as The Power Station, at Wirral International Business Park in Bromborough.

The developer acquired the five acre site from the Homes & Communities Agency, and Portal started on the £5.5m project in December last year.

The 100,000 sq ft project includes eight units ranging between 5,000 sq ft and 16,000 sq ft in size, with 75% of the development let or sold on completion.

Tenants include Evoke Creative, a tech design and manufacturing company, which took 30,000 sq ft of space across two units at the development in February this year.

Craig Booton, director at Redsun, said: “This project took a while to get out of the ground, but it’s been a real success with some great companies locating to the development. Its further evidence that the demand is out there for a high quality product in the right location.

“We’ve completed over 300,000 sq ft this year alone, with a further 90,000 sq ft under construction in Ellesmere Port and Knowsley. We are already making plans to bring forward further developments in 2018.”

The Power Station is the third major scheme Redsun has completed on Merseyside this year, following on from Canada Dock Exchange in Liverpool and Senate Business Park in Bootle.

Eric Wright acted as main contractor at Bootle, where Redsun built a 170,000 sq ft manufacturing facility for Domino Printing Services; while Portal also built the facility at Canada Dock Exchange.

Legat Owen and B8 Real Estate were instructed agents on the project, which has been supported by European Regional Development Funding.
