Recruitment firm signs for Afflecks Palace HQ
Castlefield Recruitment has swapped one Bruntwood building for another, leaving York House and taking 9,000 sq ft within the iconic Manchester retail emporium.
The top floor of Afflecks Palace was previously used for storage but has been repurposed for Castlefield by Blok Projects, who implemented Axi Studio’s interior vision.
The firm’s relocation to the Northern Quarter comes amid continued expansion.
Castlefield, which has signed a 10-year lease on its new Manchester office, employs 50 staff with plans to hire more.
Nick Ogden, one of the founding directors of Castlefield Recruitment, said the move is a good fit for the company.
“As a thriving Manchester-born business, this is a huge chapter for us,” he said.
“We are so excited that our new headquarters is in one of the city’s most prolific buildings, which embodies the Mancunian spirit that echoes the ethos of our company.”
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham attended an event marking the deal and spoke of his pleasure at seeing the building used in a new way.
“Afflecks is one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings, so to see it being used in a new way, with the support of the building’s owners and existing tenants, is fantastic.
“Increasingly people don’t feel the need to leave Greater Manchester to progress their career, and by attracting more talent to the city-region, we can ensure businesses like Castlefield Recruitment can continue to grow.”
