Real estate lawyer to lead Irwin Mitchell in Manchester

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced that real estate specialist Roy Beckett will be taking over as regional managing partner when Grahame Codd retires on 1 May.

Beckett joined Irwin Mitchell in February 2013 from DLA Piper when he moved with a 14-strong team which included partners Anita Weightman, Patrick Duffy and Tony Weightman.

In addition to his new position, Beckett will continue in his role as head of Irwin Mitchell’s business legal services division in Manchester.

Codd has been with the firm for 30 years. He is a specialist in personal injury law and was instrumental in opening the Manchester office of Irwin Mitchell in 2007.

Beckett said: “I would of course like to pay tribute to the fantastic work Grahame has done for Irwin Mitchell in Manchester and I am thrilled about the chance to lead the office and certainly look forward to continuing his work and building a strong team in Manchester with a reputation for providing first class business and personal legal services in the North West.”
