Rare chance to build homes near Anderton Boat Lift

Knight Frank has been instructed to sell a site with planning consent for residential development near the famous Anderton Boat Lift on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Cheshire.

The 1.6-acre site at the junction of Soot Hill Road and Daisybank Lane is being sold by Paloma Property. Daisybank Lane is the access route to the Anderton Boat Lift.

The plot has detailed planning approval for 14 mews houses in three blocks.

Built in 1875, the boat lift is one of the monuments of Britain's canal age and was the world's first and England's only boat lift.

The area is mainly residential with some shops in nearby Anderton village. North-east of the site is Marbury Country Park.

James Remfry, who is handling the sale of the land for the residential development team at Knight Frank Manchester, said: "This sale represents an outstanding opportunity to build much-needed family homes in a truly unique and historic location."
