PWA appoints director
Dan Hughes has been promoted from associate to planning director at the Preston-based consultancy.
Hughes has worked at PWA Planning for the past nine years, joining the firm from Halcrow. With more than 15 years of experience in town planning, Hughes has also worked with Wind Direct and Jacobs.
During his time at PWA, Hughes has developed an expertise in sports, commercial, renewable energy, and residential planning. He has been involved in securing planning for the Ingol Golf Course redevelopment in 2018 and the 22-storey tower Foresters Hall last year, both in Preston.
As a director, he will manage the company’s planning work, helping clients navigate the ins and outs of the planning system.
PWA co-founder and director Stella Walton praised Hughes’ work ethic.
“Dan has been instrumental to our success, making a vital contribution to our service standards and consistently delivering outstanding planning outcomes for our clients,” she said.
“His promotion is thoroughly deserved and I’m sure he will continue to play a leading role at PWA helping our clients to get development moving.”
Regarding his promotion, Hughes said: “I’ve been on an amazing journey with PWA, growing personally and professionally.
“I’m delighted to have gained this promotion and look forward to helping the practice as we enter our next phase of growth.”
