Pure lets 10,000 sq ft in Kinmel Bay

Retailer PetPlace is relocating from Quinton Hazel Enterprise Park in Colwyn Bay after seven years on the back of a successful pandemic period.

The company has taken the 10,000 sq ft Enterprise House at Tir Llwyd Enterprise Park in Kinmel Bay on a 10-year lease with an option to buy.

The building previously served as the head office of K&C Construction, part of North Wales developer Pure Residential and Commercial, which owns the building.

K&C relocated to a new-build office at New Vision Business Park in St Asaph earlier this year, a premises it shares with its parent company.

The pet industry has boomed during the pandemic; the BBC reported earlier this year that there are now an additional 3.2m animals in UK households compared to last March.

PetPlace’s relocation comes after an increase in revenues driven by online sales of pet supplies and accessories.

Managing director Sion Pritchard said: “As a company, we have grown and grown over the past few years, and that growth has accelerated since the onset of the pandemic.

“Tir Llwyd in Kinmel Bay is the perfect place for us; it is central and easily accessible. It is also less than a stone’s throw from the distribution hub that handles PetPlace’s online orders, so it’s a win-win situation for us.”

As well as its online shop, PetPlace has stores in Abergele, Ruthin, Mold, Llangefni and Chirk.

Chester and St Asaph-based BA Commercial represented Pure Residential and Commercial on the deal. PetPlace was unrepresented.
