Prospect rewards Pochin with second appointment

Pochin has won an £11m contract to work on the second phase of developer Prospect's Broadway apartments in Salford Quays following its successful completion of phase one.

The first 60 apartments were finished at the end of 2007, and work on a further 120 properties has now begun, with the development eventually featuring 180 apartments grouped around communal gardens with a gated entrance. The second phase is expected to be completed in summer 2009.

Chris Heath, managing director of Warrington-based Prospect, said: "Our customershave given us brilliant feedback regarding the quality, design and attention to detail within the apartments. We're looking forward to the handover of the next collection of 60 apartments, which will have the same high build quality.

Jonathan Pochin, contracts director of Pochin, added: "We were appointed as the contractor on second phase as a result of the high standard of work we produced on the first phase. Construction work is progressing well following completion of the piling and the concrete frames are now underway."
