Proposals in for Sunbelt Rentals’ new Birchwood HQ
Rutherford House is to be knocked down and replaced with a 93,000 sq ft campus for the construction equipment provider, under plans lodged by Jersey-based landlord Cantt Pak.
The scheme has been worked up for Sunbelt Rentals, which is due to occupy the new-build development as its headquarters. The firm, which leases tools and machinery, is currently based at 102 Dalton Avenue, a short distance away from Rutherford House.
The existing 70,000 sq ft office building on the site is underused and reaching the end of its life. It will be demolished to pave the way for the Sunbelt Rentals scheme, which will provide a base for more than 400 staff.
As well as 47,000 sq ft of office space, the project features a 6,500 sq ft innovation hub with a double height, 200-capacity auditorium for business presentations and 31,000 sq ft of warehouse space.
PIN Property, Cantt Pak’s asset manager, is being advised by WSP on planning and design. To learn more, search for reference number 2026/00436/FULM on Warrington Council’s planning portal.
