Princess Road apartments in for planning

Galliford Try Partnerships has submitted plans for a £14.2m, 105-apartment scheme on Manchester’s Princess Road.

The mixed-tenure building will be faced with red brick and will vary in height up to six storeys, featuring a landscaped roof terrace above the fourth floor.

The scheme, on a key route into the city centre, has been designed by the Manchester office of architect IDP. Sales prices are expected to be £132,000 to £142,500, with rental properties at £745 to £825 per month.

A planning decision is expected in autumn. Pending approval, Galliford Try will start on-site early in 2018 with completion set for summer 2019.

Darren Leary, development director at Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “This distinctive scheme will transform this part of the city, provide a high quality housing offer to the local community and deliver a contemporary and exciting new piece of architecture, responding to the local character of the neighbourhood.

“With city living growing more and more popular among young professionals, students and families, it’s great that we can use our expertise and experience to provide more high-quality places for people to live in urban areas.”

Galliford Try Partnerships is the regeneration-focused part of the eponymously-named group. As well as working with housing association partners as a contractor, it develops its own projects and is currently engaged on 750 homes across the North West and North Wales.
