Preston to approve 280 houses
Bloor Homes is expecting to receive the green light at the city council’s planning committee meeting on Thursday to build a mix of residences at Old Harm Farm off Riversway.
Designed by architect Escape Urbanists, the scheme would see the delivery of 280 houses. Plans feature a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced properties, as well as maisonettes.
There would be 50 two-, 101 three-, and 129 four-bedroom houses.
Of the 280 homes, 84 would be affordable.
Bloor acquired the 39-acre site last August, when the site already benefitted from outline permission for 280 homes. Management consultant Bulwark secured the planning permission in 2021.
Savills is the planning consultant for the scheme. Also on the project team is transport consultant Eddisons and arboricultural consultant Tyler Grange.
To learn more about the plans, search for application number 06/2022/1177 on Preston City Council’s planning portal.
Also on Preston’s planning agenda on Thursday is Portergate’s 19-storey apartment block, as well as Onside’s plans for a three-storey youth zone, featuring a four-court sports hall, performance space, and gym.
OnSide Youth Zone’s plans can be found by searching for application number 06/2022/1378.

Jon P greenbelt starts just south the Ribble and carries on until you are well over the Mersey, not hard to see why housing gets displaced to Cottam.

This area of Cottam was long designated for housing since the 1990s – I’ve even seen faded signs in the area to the predecessor to Homes England there!
