Powell Williams wins contract at Gemini Business Park
The building consultancy's Chester office has been retained to support the delivery of a fit out programme of an 85,000 sq ft building at the business park in Warrington.
The project management team at Powell Williams LLP will assist and support in-house property experts from document management specialists Recall to increase the internal capacity of an information centre by more than 25%.
Powell Williams' team will co-ordinate a range of contractors upgrading the current racking systems and infrastructure to meet Recall's global standard operating procedures for security and fire safety.
The new contract builds on a five-year relationship between Powell Williams and Recall.
Powell Williams is currently supporting the delivery of Recall's 35,000 sq ft facility at Heywood Distribution Park in Greater Manchester.
Andy Williams, lead partner at Powell Williams' Chester office, said: "These projects are designed to improve the efficiency of the building, by reconfiguring the internal layout and increasing the space available. This therefore maximises the client's investment and improves its own customer service offering.
"The particular challenge of these projects is the management of the various specialist sub-contractors to enable the programme to be carried out at night, so as not to affect the ongoing operation of the facilities. For this we will draw on our experience of working with Recall over the last five years, and the recent delivery of a similar scheme in Heywood."
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
