Pochin to build £9m Morson offices

Pochin Construction has won a £9.1m contract to build offices for technical recruitment company Morson International in Salford.

The Morson Building, on Centenary Way in Eccles, will provide 70,450 sq ft of offices over five floors when completed.

Jonathan Pochin, managing director of Pochin Construction, part of the Cheshire-based group Pchin's, said: "The client asked us to tender for the job having been impressed with our construction methods on the newly-built Centenary House, situated opposite to this site. We have worked with the engineer, Tier, and the architect, AFL, on many projects before, which will help us to achieve an excellent end result.

"The project itself is on course to achieve a BREEAM rating 'very good' and will include some quite distinctive aspects, including a burnt orange cladding and a rain screen, which will be built on an incline."

WHR is acting as sole agent on behalf of Morson International. Completion is scheduled for autumn 2009.
