Plus Dane and Penny Lane form £167m partnership
The housing association has awarded the Liverpool-based construction firm a five-year contract to maintain its 18,000-home portfolio.
Plus Dane Housing, which manages homes across Cheshire and Merseyside, has awarded Penny Lane Builders a five-year contract for general repairs and maintenance, gas servicing, electrical works, and associated compliance services.
The contract has the potential to be extended up to 2033 and will be reviewed annually. Its value over the projected 10 years is £167m.
Gerard McEvoy, managing director at Penny Lane Builders, said the companies’ shared values make the partnership a good fit.
“We share a commitment to social value and throughout our time working with Plus Dane we have created a significant number of jobs, apprenticeships, and other training opportunities for local people.
“This contract win will secure these jobs with a plan to create even more over the next 10 years.”
PLB has worked with Plus Dane since 2003 and has been a strategic partner since 2018. The two parties recently combined to deliver the redevelopment of 127 derelict terraced properties in Toxteth into 99 modern affordable homes.
Paul Knight, chief operating officer at Plus Dane, said the partnership is all about delivering good customer service.
“We know that our repairs, maintenance, and the other services that keep people safe in their homes are amongst the most important for our customers so working with a trusted partner that can support us with this and deliver to the standard our own teams do is vital.
“I am really pleased to be continuing our working relationship with PLB who I know share our values, social purpose, and commitment to doing the best for customers.”
Well done to both partners, its good to regenerate new jobs I our local area x x x
