Plans lodged for 72-bed Northwich care home
Cheshire West and Chester Council have received proposals from Morrison Community Care Group to develop the facility.
The home would host high-quality care and dementia bedrooms, helping to meet council targets and addressing recognised local needs for these facilities, according to the plans.
Proposed for a 1.8-acre site off Chester Way in Northwich, the ground floor of the care home would house a reception area, staff offices, a cafe, and a private dining room.
There would also be a hair and beauty salon, 22 bedrooms for one care group, a dining room, plus a lounge opening towards garden spaces on that level.
The bedrooms on this floor would each have private patios for residents, and nursing facilities would also be available.
Plans for the first floor include additional communal facilities such as a cinema and champagne bar for residents to enjoy. A single care group would be accommodated on this level with 24 bedrooms and a quiet room.
The second floor would be home to 26 bedrooms, an activity room, and a library for residents of the entire building to use, and would also feature an outdoor terrace.
Access will be from a junction created off Chester Way and 27 car parking spaces would be made for the development.
CWAC planners will decide on the proposals at a future date.
Marrons, Harrison Irwin Architects, Cowal Design, Leigh Ecology, James Royston Arboricultural Consultant, and Hawkins Environmental form the project team.

This application is ludicrous! Firstly other care homes in the area are undersubscribed and cannot get staff. Secondly this is the second such application, the first refused on grounds of land stability, well the land is still the same and unless they propose to fit a giant jet pack to this 3 storey 72 bed 80m long monstrosity its still not suitable. 100 staff 72 residents and 27 car parking spaces, really? An entrance on a busy road right next to a large already problematic roundabout. Not to mention the destruction of an urban woodland on a greenfield site and the total domination of a quite residential area. Madness…
