Plans in for Old Trafford flats

Tannen Group, a London-based developer, has submitted a planning application to Trafford Council to deliver a block of 90 apartments in place of a hotel scheme approved in 2014.

Ropetune, a subsidiary of Tannen, has lodged plans for a 10-storey building at 86 Talbot Road, designed by Leach Rhodes Walker.

Planning permission was granted in 2014 for a 126-bedroom hotel, on the site of an office which has since been demolished.

The plot is near to Lancashire County Cricket Club, which recently started on site with a £12m Hilton Garden Inn Hotel at the Emirates Old Trafford ground.

Old Trafford is seeing a rise in residential schemes being brought forward in the area. North Point Global is due to complete next year on 89 apartments at what is currently a surface car park on Warwick Road, and nearby on Skerton Road, Pinnacle Alliance is delivering the office-to-resi conversion of Grove House, into 98 apartments.

Zerum is advising Tannen on the planning application.
