Plans in for 66-bed Barrow care facility
LNT Care Development is proposing to transform the vacant greenfield site on Old Row to deliver the 32,500 sq ft facility and three additional homes.
LNT Care Development’s sister company LNT Construction has submitted the plans for the 66-bedroom home.
A range of communal amenities are proposed on the two-acre site, including cafes, a library, cinema, and a hairdressers.
The facility will be split into separate care requirements – general and dementia care.
Permission for the demolition of the former La Taverna restaurant on site has already been granted. Here, one two-bedroom and two three-bedroom homes would be built under LNT’s plans.
All residents would have access to 25 car parking spaces, including three disabled and six EV, and eight cycle spaces. Mobility scooter storage and charging would also be available in the reception.
S&D Garritt is the noise consultant for the scheme. Calabrian is the environmental consultant, and Brooks the ecological consultant.
