Plans in for 48 affordable Barrow homes
Alderley Partnerships is hoping to build the properties on 3.9 acres off Park Road in Barrow-in-Furness.
A hybrid application compiled by MPSL Planning and Design and submitted to Westmorland and Furness Council indicates that a mixture of mews terraces and semi-detached houses would be developed.
It is expected that 16 of the homes would provide two bedrooms, while the remaining 32 would offer three bedrooms.
All the properties are to be let at affordable rent and would each have a private rear garden and two on-street parking spots.
Nearly an acre of amenity green space is included in the plans, while an existing playground is roughly 300 metres away.
Outline approval for a 48-home development on the plot has already been granted. This hybrid application concerns details of the scheme’s appearance, landscaping, scale, access, and layout.
The land has been reallocated from employment use to residential after the 2019 adoption of the Barrow Borough Local Plan.
Working alongside Alderley Partnerships are TEP, REFA Consulting Engineers, and SCP.
