Plans in for 126-bed Warrington hotel
Manchester-based real estate firm Clifford Christian Estates has lodged outline plans for a seven-storey hotel at Centre Park Square off Slutchers Lane in Warrington.
The 126-bedroom hotel, designed by architecture studio Falconer Chester Hall, would be built on a one-acre site on the edge of Centre Park business park, close to Warrington Bank Quay train station, and would include a 76-space car park.
Nearby, a £20m highway scheme is under construction to connect the A5060 Chester Road to Slutchers Lane through a new bridge crossing the River Mersey to provide improved connections to the site.
The hotel proposals align with the council’s aspirations for the area, as set out in the council’s town centre masterplan, according to a planning statement prepared by Zerum.
The lack of hotels in Warrington “holds back business and economic growth”, the masterplan states.
Zerum is the planning consultant for the development. Hydrock, Urban Green and Mosodi are also on the project team.
