Plans approved for Boohoo owners’ Dale Street offices
Manchester City Council has given the green light to a five-storey office project on Dale Street, which is being brought forward by Kamani Commercial Property.
Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the office development will be built at 25-27 Dale Street, currently used as a surface car park. The 4,900 sq ft site was previously occupied by a grade-two listed warehouse, which was demolished following a fire in 2007.
Manchester City Council approved the 27,600 sq ft scheme, which also includes retail, café or bar space on the ground floor, under delegated powers on Friday.
David George, associate director at Falconer Chester Hall, said: “We were aware of the sensitivity of the site as it is part of the Stevenson Square Conservation Area and we wanted to bring forward a scheme that was respectful of its local context.
“We have maintained a constructive dialogue with the City Council throughout the process in order to arrive at a suitable design solution.”
The professional team also included Zerum as planning and M&E consultant, and Westlakes as structural engineer.
The Kamani family is also behind fashion retailer Boohoo. The fashion chain is also planning to build a 600,000 sq ft distribution facility in the North West.
