Revised plans for 64 apartments off St James Street and an 11-storey student block off Roscoe Street are among the schemes set for approval at the city council’s planning committee meeting next Tuesday.

Oldham Place

Application number: 22F/2689

Approval would see an 11-storey student block created at Oldham Place off Roscoe Street, providing 218 studios.

Fold2 Architecture designed the project, which includes 10 cluster apartments.

Within the 218 studios, a total of 258 student beds would be delivered.

Residents would also have access to a total of 1,500 sq ft of commercial space. This space would feature study rooms, a cinema, and a gym.

There would be no car parking spaces provided, however 138 cycle spaces would be available.

Previously used as a car park, the site has been vacant since 2005.

Soundtesting is the scheme’s noise consultant. CCG is providing a land contamination assessment.

Torus62 Development is seeking to deliver 64 apartments off St James Street in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle area.

Architect Brock Carmichael designed the project, which would range from seven to 10 storeys in height.

The scheme would provide 27 one-bedroom and 37 two-bedroom flats.

Residents would also have access to a total of 8,900 sq ft of commercial floorspace set across eight floors.

There would be no car parking spaces provided, however 120 cycle spaces would be created.

Torus62 was granted planning permission for 56 apartments on the same site in 2019.

Revised proposals include eight extra apartments, as well as amended designs and fewer Juliet balconies.
