PizzaLuxe to open in Arndale
The pizzeria has agreed a 10-year lease on a 2,000 sq ft unit in the £11m Halle Place food hall at the shopping centre in Manchester, and expects to start trading in the summer.
PizzaLuxe, founded as a market stall in London’s Brick Lane, will sit alongside Archies, Barburrito and Wolf Italian in the Halle section of the Arndale on the ground floor.
The 25,000 sq ft Halle Place was completed by contractor ISG in summer 2018.
Last year Manchester Arndale let more than 95,000 sq ft of retail, food & beverage, and leisure units, including the expansion of Specsavers and Footlocker. The centre is home to 200 shops and restaurants.
Paul Goodale, founder of PizzaLuxe, said: “From our humble beginnings selling pizza from a market stall, we have evolved into multi-site business with big plans for the future.”
Scott Linard, director of asset management at M&G Real Estate, said: “Halle Place already offers a variety of culinary styles. We see PizzaLuxe as the perfect addition to the dining mix and look forward to announcing more restaurants in the near future.
Manchester Arndale is jointly owned by M&G Real Estate and Intu. The agents are Time Retail Partners and Metis Real Estate Advisors.
The Arndale centre an ugly blot on the Manchester landscape since the 1970s it needs to be demolished starting with the multistorey carpark.

The Arndale was once decribed by Bill Bryson as the “world’s largest urinal” and he wasn’t wrong. It’s construction destroyed an entire neighbourhood where it now stands that was full of character and creating a wall effect, it also dilapidated the NQ which is only now coming back in reinvented form. I avoid the Arndale at all costs. In fact, I’d rather sit on a train for an hour and go to Leeds to shop than step foot in the Arndale.
And this is before anyone brings up those ridiculous escalators in the photo! It just says everything about the Arndale that they somehow mismanage the design of this new foodcourt area so badly that they have steps leading up to an escalator. Steps! Perfect for the world’s longest urinal.
