Pendle picks Colliers for development study

Surveyor Colliers International and economist Aspinall Verdi have been appointed by Pendle Council to assess market conditions and advise on whether to introduce a Community Infrastructure Levy in the borough.

Andy Delaney, director of Colliers International in Manchester, said the study will assess the viability of the council's core strategy and inform the preparation of site allocations and development policies in the new local plan. The study is due to be completed in the early summer of 2013.

He added: "In particular it will be used to inform the appraisal of potential development sites and to ensure that site allocations for various uses are realistic and deliverable. It will also form the evidence base for the council to decide on whether it will introduce a Community Infrastructure Levy."

Neil Watson, planning and building control manager at Pendle Council, said: "The study will enable informed decisions to be made on how to bring forward the development we need in the borough over the next 15 years."
