Peel takes first small step into Wirral Waters
Peel Holdings has won planning approval for a hotel and restaurant at the historic Hydraulic Tower, Seacombe – the first consent in its £4.5bn scheme.
The developer will partly demolish and refurbish the tower, which was damaged in the Second World War. The tower will house a restaurant while a four-storey hotel and car park will be built on an adjacent site.
If built, the ambitious Wirral Waters area will create 5m sq ft of offices, 11m sq ft of residential and 600,000 sq ft of retail and leisure. Wirral Waters will be mirrored by the £5.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme across the Mersey.
