Peel plans outdoor Media City screen

Peel Group has submitted a planning application to build an outdoor screen in the square at Media City UK.

The double-sided outdoor screen will measure 4.608m high by 6.912m wide and stand in-between two of the six lighting columns in the centre of Media City UK's piazza.

Stephen Wild, managing director of Media City UK, said: "Media City UK is an iconic site and our plans for the first phase of the development have always incorporated an outdoor screen, but it was important to ensure the most suitable location for both audiences and content providers. Our proposed site will ensure that visitors, residents and workers get to enjoy the visual content shown from several different vantage points at Media City UK."

A range of potential content providers could use the screen including the BBC, the University of Salford and ITV, as well as visiting event companies organising activities within the outdoor space or in the Open Centre.
