Peel/Barnfield prepare for Riverside launch

Peel Holdings, in a joint venture with Lancashire developer Barnfield Construction, will start on site with the first phase of offices at Riverside Business Park, Pendle, in the summer.

The 35,000 sq ft scheme, to be called Vantage Court, will comprise small, self-contained units from 1,500 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft.

Planning consent exists for up to 300,000 sq ft of offices, making Riverside the largest business park in the area. The park has direct motorway access onto Junction 13 of the M65.

Peel said it was confident the area could support such a large business park, with existing employers such as Protec, Silentnight, Rolls-Royce and Boundary Mill Stores underpinning the Pendle economy.

Matthew Fitton, Peel Business Parks manager, said: "Interest levels are high and we are hopeful of commitments prior to completion of the scheme in spring 2009. Our long term vision is for Riverside Business Park to become East Lancashire's premier office park".

Michael Cavannagh of Trevor Dawson said: "The Barnfield scheme will trigger the development of Riverside Business Park and already both ourselves and Knight Frank are receiving a high level of initial interest in Vantage Court. With the site's prominence to the M65 and its superb semi rural environment we are confident that Barnfield's scheme will be a success triggering inward investment into Pendle and further development in the remainder of the site''

Units are available to purchase or lease from joint letting agents Trevor Dawson and Knight Frank.
