Peaks & Plains unveils £10m Macclesfield project

PH Homes has sold a collection of mill buildings on Park Green that were partially destroyed by fire in 2011 to Peaks & Plains Housing Trust.

The remaining structures at the site, known as Georgian Mill, will be demolished to make way for the Pozzoni-designed development. The site is bounded by Park Green, Lower Bank Street and Waterside, and sits next to Throwsters Court, an earlier Peaks & Plains development.

A planning application has been submitted and is awaiting a decision.

Margaret Goddard, assistant director homes and partnerships, Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, explained: “By redeveloping the Georgian Mill site we will not only be providing a range of high-quality new homes, but breathing life into a key location in Macclesfield town centre.”

The mix of tenures has yet to be decided.

The project team includes How Planning, Pozzoni Architects and agent Wilkinson Cowan Partnership.
