PCT opens new £6m GP surgery

Contractor Galliford Try has completed a £6m health centre in Anfield for Liverpool Primary Care Trust.

The new building opened this week in Townsend Lane, on land formerly occupied by All Saints RC Primary School. Local GP practices Townsend Lane Medical Centre and Anfield Group Practice have both moved into the building.

The scheme is part of Liverpool PCT's New Health Service for Liverpool plan, announced in 2007.

Liverpool PCT is currently working on a second Anfield Neighbourhood Health Centre at nearby Mere Lane, as well as a new centre in Kensington. New facilities have already opened in Everton, Breeze Close, Picton, Yewtree, Oriel Drive, Speke and Garston; and Childwall.
