Pair of resi proposals tabled for Salford business park
Greenwood Business Centre’s 40,000 sq ft of offices could be converted into apartments under two separate plans lodged by landlord Willan Investments and housebuilder Mandale Homes.
The two-acre site off Regent Road comprises three office buildings, Northwood House, Southwood House, and Westward House.
Sale-based Willan Investments proposes converting the buildings into 77 apartments. A total of 54 would have one bedroom and 23 would have two bedrooms.
CBRE is Willan’s planning consultant for the project and Matt Brook Architects has drawn up designs.
Willan Investments declined to comment on the plans.
A second application from Mandale Homes proposes the offices be converted into 74 apartments. Of those, 60 would have one bedroom and the remaining 14 would have two bedrooms.
ELG Planning and Wardman Brown are the planning consultant and architect respectively.
Occupiers at Greenwood Business Centre include community interest company Six Degrees Social Enterprise, sports media company Greenlight International and specialist book publisher Our Dogs Publishing.
Canning O’Neill is the letting agent for the business park.
I drive past this site about 3 times a week and seen the “to let” signs for years meaning the offices are not fully occupied, so I seen this coming, more appartments. It is now the future of half the office blocks to turn them into appartment blocks because more and more office workers are now going to work from home.
