Oxbury Bank takes 15,500 sq ft in Chester
The rural economy-focused lender has agreed terms on a 10-year lease with landlord Watkin Property Ventures at the Gorse Stacks office complex.
BA Commercial said that the deal “represents a significant transaction in the Chester office market and underlines continued demand for high-quality, well-located workspace”.
Oxbury will take space across two floors at Gorse Stacks, which sits close to the Fountains roundabout and Chester’s inner ring road. The exact space taken is 15,489 sq ft.
BA Commercial represented the landlord, with Legat Owen working for the tenant. Other occupiers at the building include HM3 Legal Services and Somersham Investment Management.
Wit development at Gorse Stacks having been floated for many years, Cheshire West and Chester Council approved a mixed-use scheme in 2012, with Watkin Jones taking forward offices, health facilities and residential.
Oxbury has been approached for comment. The bank is registered at One City Place, where it signed for 6,000 sq ft in September 2022.

Great news – while the building itself is fairly horrid, the actual development concept there (mixed use with underground parking and sensible street-level design) is actually what we should get more of, rather than single-use schemes that often end up empty or run down.
