Offices.co.uk appoints Manchester sales lead

The start-up, which provides online flexible workspace agency for SMEs, is pushing ahead with expansion plans by hiring Edward Coulson to head up a Manchester sales team. 

The company is searching for premises to house its Manchester team as it grows. 

Coulson has been appointed as head of flexible office sales, at what the firm describes as a an “exciting time in the serviced office market”. 

The company said it hopes to take advantage of an increased demand for flexible workspace as SMEs look to exit  long-tenure leases amid the uncertainty caused by Covid-19.

Coulson joins from The Instant Group, a flexible workspace consultancy where he spent just under two years as regional account manager in its Newcastle office. 

Offices.co.uk, which was founded last year by chief executive Jonathan Ratcliffe, has its headquarters in Leeds and another office in Newcastle. 

Ratcliffe said: “The challenges facing all real estate businesses during the Covid-19 crisis are well documented. The problems are extremely real for small businesses who occupy leasehold properties with long tenures.  

“The attraction of using flexible office spaces reduces risk, overall long-term cost and allows businesses to move up and down workspaces following their business demands.” 

Coulson, who will divide his time between the North West and the North East, added: “Flexible workspace is an ever-growing industry.

“During uncertain times I am confident we have the ability and expertise to enable companies to transition through this period of change as we get back to a new normality.”
