NW developers among BCO award winners

The first Northern Awards organised by industry association the British Council for Offices saw Allied London, BDP and UK Land & Property/Pochin all take home gongs.

Six winners in five categories were announced at Wednesday's dinner held in the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Best Commercial Workplace

• Allied London, 3 Hardman Street, Spinningfields, Manchester

Best Corporate Workplace (two joint winners)

• AV Hill Building, The University of Manchester, Manchester
• BDP Manchester Studio, 11 Ducie Street, Manchester

Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace

• Memphis Building for Student Loans Company, Darlington

Best Fit-out of Workplace

• UK Land & Property/Pochin, Ministry of Defence, Walker House, Liverpool

Best Project up to 2,000m2

• ghd Corporate Headquarters, Bridgewater Place, Leeds

Winners from the regional awards will go on to compete for a national award at another ceremony in October.
