Novacoast makes 8,500 sq ft Manchester move
The cyber security firm is moving out of The Exchange on New York Street and into Wittington Investments’ Express Building on Great Ancoats Street.
Novacoast has signed a 10-year lease on the sixth floor of the 77,500 sq ft building, once the headquarters of the Daily Express newspaper.
Novacoast, whose new office is being designed and delivered by OBI, will look to move into Express Building later this year.
Matt Ziegler, chief of strategic initiatives at Novacoast, said: “We are thrilled to have secured the top floor and mezzanine in the Express building. The local team are excited to relocate to later this year and look forward to the amazing workspace and superb views of Manchester’s city centre from the dedicated rooftop terrace.
“The move to Ancoats allows our team to truly take advantage of the fantastic amenities located close by. From increased car park access and more convenient public transit, to fantastic hotel and restaurant selections, this location is ideally suited to our workforce.”
The tech firm’s arrival follows that of fashion house VF Corporation earlier in the year.
VF Corporation, which owns brands including The North Face, Vans, and Napapijri, has opened a suite of showrooms on the fifth floor.
The other occupier in Express Building is flexible workspace provider Huckletree, which recently upped its presence to 37,000 sq ft.
Just 22,500 sq ft of space across the third and fourth floors remains available.
OBI and CBRE are the retained agents on the building.
Richard Lace, part of the transactions and asset management team at OBI, said: “These latest transactions announced at Express Building are a major coup, given the quality of the brands and businesses who have been attracted to the building.
“When you look at the types of occupiers who reside in Huckletree, coupled with Novacoast and VF Corporation, we have created a dynamic mix of tech, fashion, digital and creative companies, which was always the vision when we set out to reposition the asset.”
What a fantastic building. I need to visit Manchester, it’s been too long.

A wonderful iconic building and in an increasingly interesting place between Ancoats and the Northern quarter.
