Northstone promotes Allen to partnerships director
Jo Allen has stepped up to a newly created role as the housebuilder looks to create more relationships with external organisations while nurturing existing ones.
Allen joined Northstone from Tawd Valley Developments in 2020 as head of partnerships and development with a remit to lead on the delivery of affordable housing.
Since then, the company, which is part of Peel L&P, has grown its pipeline to 1,300 homes across 150 acres.
In her new role as director of partnerships, Allen will continue to foster relationships with registered providers to provide affordable homes across Northstone schemes.
One such partnership was inked in March when Torus and Northstone struck a £28m deal that will see 106 homes across sites in Ellesmere Port and Wigan managed by Torus.
“Northstone’s approach from day one has always been to unpack the homebuilding process and explore how things can be done differently,” Allen said.
“The approach to building quality relationships and genuine partnerships was no exception, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved to date.”
As well as leading the partnerships team, Allen is operations director for Letta, the suburban build-to-rent company set up by Peel L&P and Redwing, part of The Regenda Group.
Allen has previously worked at Sovini Group, Barratt, David Wilson Homes, and Aster Homes.
Phil Wilson, chief executive at Northstone, said Allen’s promotion demonstrates a recognition of the growing importance of partnerships with third parties.
“A major part of Northstone’s growth and success has been through the partnerships we’ve forged with contractors, local authorities, housing providers, including the local community and environmental groups,” he said.
“Jo has been instrumental in establishing a highly collaborative approach and we’re thrilled she’s taken up this key leadership role. She has been a major champion of Northstone’s approach to delivering design-led, sustainable communities, with a focus on striking partnerships that unlock the delivery of new homes and added social value.”
